Description
The former entrance lodge, gates, and boundary wall to St Paul's College were built around 1849 by the architect S W Daukes, with the lodge itself being constructed in 1912. The front wall and the wall to the right along St Paul's Lane are made of squared coursed rubble and extend for approximately 100 meters, standing about 1.5 meters high with weathered capping. To the left of the lodge, there is a gateway that is buttressed and crenellated, featuring an archway and gates. The lodge is designed in a gabled vernacular Gothic style and has one-and-a-half storeys with a tiled roof. It includes two triple lancet windows with cusped detailing under the gables, which have weathered coping, and four-light windows on the ground floor. There are crenellated extensions to the right and a gabled extension to the left that includes a porch and doorway.
