Description
No. 37 North Street is an early 19th-century mill house with a water mill at the rear. The mill house, which has been altered in the 19th century, is finished in stucco and features a slate roof with a wide gable end facing the street. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and consists of two bays. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and there are two-light attic sashes in the gable set within a round-arched opening that has a keyblock and a band at the cill level. The central doorway, added in the late 19th century, is pilastered and features a segmental arch with a keyblock and a hood. The stone rubble water mill at the rear is three storeys high, with its gable end facing the stream and small window openings. The mill machinery has been removed.
