Description
South Lodge is a small Gothick lodge built in the early to mid-19th century. It has an octagonal shape with hipped roofs covered in diamond-shaped slates and roughcast walls. The building stands two storeys tall with a basement. There is a small gable above the first-floor window facing the drive, and below it is a pointed arch doorway featuring a Gothick fanlight. The lodge has a loggia on the other sides, supported by chamfered timber posts that hold up a tented roof. Small Gothick casement windows are present throughout. A single-storey wing extends to the north-east. The lodge is situated high above the River Obenent to the south-east, with the basement storey overlooking the river. The property also includes garden area railings at the front (south-west) with arrow-headed shafts.
