Description
This cottage and stable block, located about 15 meters north of Langstone Manor, was likely built around 1907, at the same time as the rebuilding of Langstone Manor. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and features a slate roof with gabled ends, with the left gable end being slate-hung and some brick dressings. The building has two storeys, with living accommodation at the rear and above the stabling area.
The east front is asymmetrical and includes three large entrances for the coachhouse and stables, which have segmental arches. The two entrances on the left are topped with square-headed hoodmoulds that have label stops, while the entrance on the right has a segmental brick arch. There are two gabled dormers on the left side, each containing 12-pane sash windows, and another sash window on the front to the right.
At the ridge, there is a weathervane supported by an ornamental brick turret that features a moulded brick cornice and a brick gable topped with a tented slate roof. This building is included for its group value with Langstone Manor.
