Description
Woodmanswell Cottage is a house that dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with extensive alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of stone rubble interspersed with courses of slate and has a 20th-century tiled roof, which was formerly thatched. There is a rendered stack at the left gable end and some 20th-century slate-hanging on the rear. The house has a two-room plan and features a semi-circular stair turret at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with three windows, an off-centre 20th-century glazed porch, and a 20th-century front door. The windows are irregularly placed and are 20th-century casements. The rear turret includes a two-light reused stone mullioned stair window. Inside, there are large chamfered joists and a large fireplace with a replaced lintel. The roof timbers are from the 20th century.
