Description

Two stone piers, located about 20 meters southeast of East Quither Farmhouse, were once part of an aqueduct that transported water to the water wheel at the farmhouse. These piers date from the late 19th century and are constructed from stone rubble. The aqueduct previously spanned the lane leading to East Quither Farmhouse and supplied water to the overshot water wheel linked to the barn immediately east of the farmhouse. This structure was likely associated with the manganese mining industry.
