Description
These outbuildings, located about 8 meters north-west of the Dower House, were formerly cottages and date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of stone rubble and feature roofs made of corrugated asbestos and asbestos slate, with a hipped roof at the left end and a gabled roof at the right end, which were originally thatched. There are two stone stacks, and the buildings are single depth with two storeys. The structure has a long range of seven windows under three separate rooflines, with some windows converted to loft entrances and a scattered arrangement of fenestration. Two cottage entrances remain, each sheltered by sloping slate canopies. The surviving windows are mostly 2- and 3-light 19th-century casements with glazing bars, set beneath timber lintels. Inside, some pegged trusses are still intact. These outbuildings are included for their group value with the Dower House, the cross shaft, and Lee Millhouse.
