Description

The structure is a wall with a gateway arch located approximately 60 metres north-west of The Garden House, dating from the early 16th century. It is constructed from small pieces of slate and granite rubble. The gateway arch features a debased 4-centred design that is actually 5-centred, with roll moulding. Above the arch, there is a date stone from 1847 set into the wall, which is raised like a truncated gable. The wall curves out significantly on either side before continuing in a straight line, suggesting it may incorporate some of the original curtilage wall.
