Stable Range About 30M North West Of Gateway Attached To Collacombe Manor

The stable range, likely originating in the 18th century, is situated about 30 meters northwest of the gateway attached to Collacombe Manor. It features a rubble construction with a cement-washed scantle slate roof, which includes some early slightly crested ridge tiles. The building is two storeys high, with the front side displaying three door openings on the left. One of these has a brick segmental head, while another is a small unglazed opening with a heavy granite lintel. There is a loading door on the first floor to the left, and an off-centre external stair provides access to lower and upper doors. To the right on the ground floor, there is a three-pane light, a door at the end, and an upper loading door, along with a small opening to the right. The left return of the building shows a straight joint at low level and a small single opening, as well as a ventilation slit in the gable end. There are remains of a single-storey addition to the left, which includes a blocked door and another ventilation slit. The right return has lower additions and a door opening to the right. Inside, the building features a six-bay roof, which has been largely reconstructed, with principal rafters, collars, upper collars, and two rows of purlins.
