Description

This milestone, located at SX 460 687, dates from the early 19th century and is made of granite. It has a square plan pier resting on a rough-cut base and stands about 1.5 metres high. The milestone features incised lettering that reads: "BEER FERRIS 2 MILES, TAVISTOCK 4 MILES, GAWTON HALF MILE," with the lettering for Gawton arranged in a semicircle.
