LAMERTON SX 47 NE 3/35 - Sportsmans Arms

II

House, now inn. Early C19 with C20 alterations. Rubble, whitewashed at lower level, slate-hung above at front and sides, asbestos slate roof with slated gable stack to left, rear wing rendered. Overall T-plan, double depth plan with 2 principal front rooms, one on either side of central entrance hall containing stair to rear; now open plan. Small 2-storey integral service wing to rear. 2 storeys and 3 windows, all 16-pane sashes, central gabled porch with segmental- headed opening, 2-pane sidelights, inner panelled door with 2 glazed sections and overlight; 2-storey lean-to to left with C20 glazed bay at ground floor, 8-pane C20 light above, plinth, second lean-to to left with door. Left return has blank gable end, right return has C20 single-storey concrete lean-to with 3-pane light to front, door and 4-pane light to side. Rear has central 2-storey gabled wing with C20 single light and small single storey lean-to, 3 C20 lights at first floor and 4-pane attic light; ground and first floor left and right 2-light casement with cambered head, 8 panes each, door in lean-to to left, lean-to right has C20 2-light casement at ground and first of 6 panes, half-glazed door to right. Rear left side of wing has door, right side has blocked door with C20 single light inserted. Interior straight stair to rear centre, largely altered C20.
