Description
This building is a cart shed with a granary, dating from the late 18th century, located approximately 15 metres south of Thorndon Farmhouse. It features stone rubble walls on the ground floor, with cob above, and has a gable-ended corrugated iron roof. The structure has a rectangular plan, consisting of a 4-bay open-fronted cart shed on the ground floor and a granary above, which is accessed by steps at the right-hand gable end. The building is two storeys high, with the ground floor front divided into four bays by monolithic granite uprights that support cross beams inside. At the centre of the first floor, there is a 3-light timber window with square set mullions and iron stanchion bars. Steps at the right-hand gable end lead to the granary door.
