Description
The walls and pair of gate-piers attached to the northeast of Walreddon Manor are likely from the early 17th century. They are constructed from granite rubble with granite coping on the walls. The walls are arranged in two sections, running to the northwest and southeast, with the gate-piers located at the northeast end. The walls stand about 3 meters high, featuring a granite doorway with an elliptical arch that has a hollow chamfer and stops, along with a similar but narrower doorway in the southern range. The gate-piers rise to about 4 meters and have an unusual design, resting on a chamfered and stopped plinth, with wide-chamfered corners and a rebated interior. They also have a cornice and large caps with gabled ends. It is possible that the structure incorporates reused materials.
