Description
The Myrtles is an early 18th century building, believed by the owner to date from 1736. It features colourwashed stucco and has a steep slate roof with gable ends. The building is two storeys high and has three windows with 19th century architraves. The 19th century sashes do not have glazing bars, and the centre window on the first floor is blocked. There is a right-hand entrance that leads to a glazed conservatory or porch. The building has 19th and 20th century brick chimney stacks. To the left, there is an early 19th century roughcast wing with a hipped roof, also two storeys, featuring sashes and casements, along with a pilastered doorcase that has an entablature and panelled reveals. At the rear, there is an early 19th century casement window with thick glazing bars and 'bottled' panes. Inside, there is an early 19th century staircase. The Myrtles is part of a group of listed buildings on Myrtle Street.
