Description

Nos. 8 and 9, Myrtle Street are a pair of 18th-century houses, altered in later times. No. 8 has a rendered facade with a first-floor band, while No. 9 is also rendered and whitened, featuring rustication below the first-floor band. Both have sash windows, most of which have been altered. The ground floor of both houses contains two 18th-century paired sashes. No. 8 has a recessed six-panelled door, along with an altered hood and brackets. No. 9 has a six-panelled door within an altered wooden case. The raising of the road level has brought the pavement almost to the level of the ground floor window sills. Nos. 8 and 9 are part of a group of listed buildings along Myrtle Street.
