Description
The Mill chest tomb, located about 8 meters north-northwest of the tower of the Church of St Giles, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed from stone rubble and features an inscribed slate lid that commemorates Grace Mill, who died in 1734, along with other members of the Mill family. The lid is adorned with a scratch-moulded border, angels carved in the upper corners, and a death's head above the inscription. This tomb is a particularly attractive example of an 18th-century chest tomb, showcasing good lettering.
