Description
The folly, originally associated with Moretonk on Abbotsham Road, is now situated in the garden of a late 20th-century house called Rosemullion. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of stone rubble. The structure features a semi-circular wall on the west side designed to resemble a small medieval castle. It has a slightly convex two-stage center with a round turret on each side. There is a raised band between the stages, and each turret has a pointed-arched doorway that was blocked in 1990, along with a narrow flat-headed window in the upper stage. At the top of each turret, there is a double raised band; the left turret has a plain parapet, while the right turret features eight mock arrow-slits and part of a conical roof. The center of the folly has three tall blind recesses with cranked heads and a parapet with three arrow-slits. The structure does not have an interior, but it is said that before the doorways were blocked, it was possible to climb the turrets.
