Description
This is a barn located about 20 meters north of Foxhole Manor, dating from the 18th century, with an adjoining horse engine house from the mid-19th century. The barn is constructed of cob, previously plastered, and sits on stone rubble footings with a corrugated iron roof that was once thatched, featuring gabled ends. The horse engine house is polygonal in shape, made of stone rubble, and has a slate roof. It is a single-storey structure. The barn includes large opposing threshing doorways, a doorway at the right gable end under a timber lintel, and a rear right window with a timber frame and slender timber mullions. There are signs that the base of the horse engine house has been rebuilt in places. The interior of the barn has been converted into a calf-house. This building is part of a well-preserved farmyard group at Foxhole Manor Farm.
