Description
This granary, located about 30 metres north-west of Tetcott Manor, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a hipped scantle slate roof. The building is square in shape, with walls supported by a timber frame resting on brick staddles topped with a slate cap to deter rats. Each side has two small 6-pane windows positioned high under the eaves, and there are stone steps leading up to the doorway. Inside, the granary has a pegged roof truss and retains internal timber partitions for grain storage. This granary is an unusually complete example of its type and is part of a group of notable farm buildings associated with Tetcott Manor.
