Description
The granary, located approximately 5 meters west of Tanners Farmhouse, is likely from the early to mid-19th century. The ground floor side walls are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, while the upper structure is timber-framed and covered with weatherboarding. It features a peg-tile roof.
This two-storey granary is oriented roughly north-south and is positioned between Tanners Farmhouse and the road. It was built alongside the stockyard, standing taller than it, and is situated near the entrance to the farmyard.
On the exterior, the south end wall has a doorway on the right with a plain plank door, and the first floor includes a central 19th-century casement window with glazing bars. Above this window is a well-preserved 19th-century pressed iron plaque from the Royal Insurance Company. The west side, facing the lane, has a door leading to a first-floor landing hatch. The roof is half-hipped at both ends.
This granary is part of a group of attractive buildings near the Church of St Thomas A Becket.
