Description

23 Market Street is a building that likely dates from the early 19th century and was formerly known as the Globe Hotel. It is two stories tall and constructed of stucco. The building features a band at the first floor and a rusticated ground floor. On the first floor, there are three sash windows with exposed frames, which now only have side glazing bars. The ground floor has two wide sash windows, with reticulate rustications on their cases, each featuring a key. Above the central entrance, there is a sculptured eagle supported by consoles, and the door has six sunk panels. All the listed buildings in Market Street form a group.
