Description
The Vicarage is a mid-19th century building that was remodeled from an earlier house. It features a rubble wall with a double-pitched interlocking tiled roof that has gable ends and rendered brick stacks. The layout is a double depth plan with three main rooms at the front and an entrance hall to the left of the center that leads to the stairwell. Smaller service rooms are located at the rear, and a thick wall separates them from the front rooms. This suggests that during the mid-19th century, the old house was converted into service quarters, with a new block built in front to accommodate the main rooms. The building has two storeys and a four-window front with an integral gabled bay at the right end. The original three-light casements on the first floor have small panes, and there is a two-light gable window. On the ground floor, there are French windows, with the left-hand one being a 20th-century replica. To the left of center, there is an original panelled and glazed door beneath a gabled porch hood supported by heavy columns at the front and pilasters at the rear, featuring moulded capitals. The rear facade has an irregular arrangement of windows and doors. Inside, the front block includes the original staircase, panelled doors, and shutters.
