Description
Court Gate Cottage is a cottage likely dating from the early 18th century. It has rendered rubble walls and a slate roof with a gable end. A rendered rubble stack is slightly set in from the right gable. The cottage originally comprised two rooms, with the right-hand room heated by the gable stack, and has a barn attached at the opposite left end. It is possible the house was once larger. The front facade has an asymmetrical arrangement with two windows on the ground floor and one window on the first floor. The windows are early 20th-century 2 and 3-light casements with glazing bars. A pentice roof is supported by a post to the right-hand side of the front. A small single-storey wing projects from the front of the right side, and the barn at the left-hand end has a first-floor loading door. The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey.
