This is an 18th-century milestone located about 10 metres west of The Cottage. It is made of freestone and has a rectangular shape, inscribed with "IIII Miles from Exeter." This milestone may be the one mentioned in the Sites and Monuments Register, indicating the boundary of the Exeter Turnpike Trust's responsibility on the steep road leading up to Haldon.
