Description

This chest tomb, located approximately 30 meters southeast of the chancel of the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in Newton Abbot, is dedicated to Richard Bowden Beard and dates from 1822. It features a flat top made of Devon limestone, with a plinth and side plaques also in Devon limestone. The side panels are made of white freestone and are complemented by clasping pilasters that have moulded plinths and capitals, as well as vase swellings positioned below their centers.
