Description

Lower Woodland Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 16th or 17th century, with later additions. It is constructed of roughcast and render over stone or cob, topped with a concrete plain tiled roof that is hipped at both ends. The left-hand gable features a projecting rendered chimney stack, while another rendered stack is located off the ridge, slightly to the right, likely in the gable of the original house. Both stacks have tapered tops with added shafts above. At the rear wall, there is a large rendered projecting stack with set-offs and a tapered top, which serves the original hall.

The farmhouse appears to have a three-room layout with a through passage and an addition on the right side. It is two storeys high, with a single-storey lean-to at the rear to the left. The original house has four windows across the front and a doorway that has been converted into a window, now featuring a 20th-century gabled porch, located off-centre to the left on the ground floor. The probable addition on the right has one window on the left side of the second storey and an unglazed window at the right-hand end of the ground floor. All other windows, except for the former doorway, are 19th-century wood casements with three lights and three panes. The interior has not been inspected, but it likely contains early features, some of which may be concealed under plaster.
