Description

The White Hart Inn and stables is an inn that dates from the 18th century or earlier and was refronted in the early to mid-19th century. It features painted stucco on the exterior and a slate roof with tall rendered stacks on the front slopes of the gable ends. The stable at the rear is constructed from limestone rubble and has a hipped slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan with a first-floor link to the stable block at the rear right.

The inn is two storeys high and has a three-window range. It is adorned with a modillion eaves cornice and early 19th-century sash windows with 8/8 panes set in forward frames at the eaves level. On the ground floor, there is a blocked entrance with chamfered jambs to the left, and to the right, a window similar to those on the first floor. Left of centre is a set-back six-panel door with raised and fielded panels at the top, flanked by two single-storey rectangular bays from the 19th century, which are connected by a continuous fascia and cornice. The left bay has small panes, while the right bay features etched plate glass. The two-storey stable at the rear includes a wide loading bay door with irregular planking and wrought-iron strap hinges. The interior has been altered, and the roof has not been observed.
