Description

The Union Inn is an early 19th-century inn located on East Street in Newton Abbot. It features painted render and a slate roof that is hipped at the left corner, topped with a tall moulded rendered stack on the left side. The building has a double-depth plan, with the left-hand range slightly canted back.

The exterior consists of three storeys and a three-window range. It has wide bracketed eaves on the front and the left return. The upper floors on the right have 8/8-pane sash windows in forward frames, while the left side has late 19th-century 2/2-pane sashes without horns. On the ground floor, there are three large 8/8-pane sashes and a door with an overlight located on the inside right. The interior has not been inspected.
