Description

The boundary wall of Denbury Manor, built between 1912 and 1914, extends from the gatehouse to the south entrance and includes two summerhouses and gate piers. Constructed of stone rubble, the wall runs from the gatehouse in the north-west to the gateposts at the south entrance in the east. Its height varies, reaching nearly five metres at the gatehouse and just over two metres at the south gate. The top features gable coping made of small stones set in cement, and along the western boundary, there is a granite bandcourse at about three metres high, which may have been a former coping. The south gateposts are square with pyramidical tops, and there is a pair of plank gates with long strap hinges.

Inside the grounds, features likely from 1912 to 1914 include a single-storey garden house that backs onto the western boundary wall. This garden house is made of stone rubble with ashlar dressings and has a slated, gabled roof with stone copings and kneelers. It features an open arcade with three round-headed arches flanked by buttresses, with additional buttresses at each end and against the gables. To the right is a similar building, but it has a flat roof and only one arch. There is also a garden wall that resembles the boundary wall, connecting to the south-west corner of the house. This wall contains a round-arched doorway with flanking buttresses, a raised parapet above, and a wrought-iron gate.
