Description
The tomb chest of the Drue family is located in the churchyard, approximately ten metres southeast of the porch of Denbury Church. This stone tomb chest, which has some brick repairs, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. The top features a slab or local 'marble' that commemorates Benjamin Due Senior, who was buried in 1696, his wife Rebekah, who was buried in 1684, and their children. On the west end of the chest, there is a small slab made of the same stone, inscribed with the words: "Here lyeth him and all that was deare unto his parents three and twenty year/Then all you that are young and do pas by remember all-that you must die/B.D."
