Description

Higher Goodstone Farmhouse is a 17th or earlier farmhouse. The front wall is solid and rendered, while the side walls are slate-hung. The roof is slate, with a hipped section to the left. There are two rendered chimneys on the rear wall, one off-centre to the left, and another on the right gable end, along with two red-brick chimneys on the left side wall. The farmhouse has two storeys and six windows across the front. A two-storeyed gable porch is located off-centre to the right, featuring a round-arched doorway with chamfered imposts. The inner door is 17th century, panelled and studded with strap-hinges, set within a square-headed, ovolo-moulded frame. The windows are plain, two-light wood casements. The interior was not inspected, but a 1973 listing description noted a wide fireplace with stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, reinforced beams, window seats, and two-panel doors.
