Description

Lemonford Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with a later addition on the left-hand end. It is constructed of painted stone rubble and features a thatched roof that is hipped at both ends, with the addition also having a thatched roof at its left-hand end. The rear wall has three large rendered chimneystacks; the right-hand stack has a large tapered cap, while the left-hand stack appears to have a smaller tapered cap with an added shaft on top. The building's plan has been somewhat altered, but it seems to have originally consisted of three rooms in a row.

The cottage is two storeys tall, while the addition is single-storeyed. The front has six windows, all of which have 19th-century wooden casements without glazing bars. Most windows are three lights, except for a two-light window at each end of the ground storey. There is a 20th-century glazed door and thatched porch in the third bay from the right, and another 20th-century glazed door in the addition to the left.

The interior of the ground storey appears to have been significantly altered, although there may be interesting features hidden under plaster. The middle room contains a large fireplace with a plain wood lintel. The upper storey has not been inspected.
