Description

The Ashcombe War Memorial, erected in 1920, was originally built to honor those who fell during the First World War, with later additions to commemorate those from the Second World War. Made of granite, the memorial features a simple, elongated, roughly-dressed stone cross set on a stone plinth. The front flat face of the plinth displays black raised lettering that reads: "1914 - 1918 / DIED FOR THEIR COUNTRY / (NAMES) / 1939 - 1945 / (NAMES) / SERVED OVERSEAS / (NAMES) / ERECTED BY PARISHIONERS."
