Description

This is part of a roadside cross located in Dunchideock, dating from the medieval period. It consists of a granite monolith featuring a complete crosspiece that is chamfered. The slightly tapering shaft has been broken at the base and subsequently mended. References include Masson Phillips' "The Ancient Stone Crosses of Devon" and Cresswell's "Devon and Cornwall Notes and Queries."
