Description
The cross in the churchyard is located approximately 3 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St Allen. It is an early medieval standing cross made of granite. The cross features a tapered monolith with a rectangular shaft that is 194 centimetres high, set on an approximately circular granite base. The wheel head of the cross has a diameter of 45 centimetres and is 22 centimetres thick, displaying a cross pattee on each side. A cut-away groove runs down the shaft, forming a margin, and there are neck flanges below the head. This cross is scheduled as an ancient monument in Cornwall.
