Description

This is a late 18th and early 19th century house located on Clarence Street in Dartmouth. It is constructed of plastered stone rubble, with a front facade treated to resemble ashlar. The roof is slate-covered, with gable ends and two hipped dormers containing casement windows. The house is three storeys high with an attic. The symmetrical front facade has three windows on each floor. The ground floor windows are 12-pane sashes within low, segmental arches, and the central first-floor window is a blind panel. The central doorway has an elliptical arch and contains a six-panel door with a plain fanlight. The roof has plain eaves. The plan consists of a double-depth layout with two rooms wide and a central entrance passage. While the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest.
