Description

No 1, Fore Street is a building likely dating from the early 19th century. It is two storeys high and has a stucco exterior that is lined and painted. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The return to Union Street features rough stone that is also painted. On the first floor, there are two near-flush frame sash windows with glazing bars. The shop front, which is an early 19th-century design, has slender pilasters flanking the central entrance. This building forms a group with the Off-shore Sea-chest, Unity Buildings, Union Street, and the Custom House on Custom House Quay.
