Description

This is a dovecote located approximately 80 metres east of Warleigh House, dating from the early 18th century. It has a circular plan and is constructed of red brick in a roughly Flemish bond, sitting on a stone rubble plinth. The roof is conical, made of scantle slate, and features a wooden lantern with a conical roof topped by a ball finial and a weather vane. The entrance is a reused moulded granite doorway with a 4-centred arch and spandrels, which is fitted with an old nail-studded door. Inside, the dovecote contains about 500 nesting holes.
