Description

Warleigh Barton is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, with 19th century window features and possibly an earlier core. It is constructed of stone rubble and has an asbestos slate hipped roof with a modillion eave cornice. The building has a double-pile plan and stands two storeys high, featuring a three-window range. Originally five windows wide, the brick arches of the original windows are visible above the 19th century tripartite sashes, which do not have glazing bars. There is a single-light sash in the centre of the first floor and a central four-panel door that is sheltered by a rendered porch, likely from the 19th or 20th century. On either side, there are single-storey lean-tos with elliptical attic lights. The chimneystacks are positioned to the left and right of the centre. Inside, the rear range includes a large chamfered granite fireplace with a straight head.
