Description
The granary located to the west of Bearscombe Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building, dated 1827. It is constructed from slatestone rubble with some brick dressings and features a slate roof. The building is gabled and two stories high, with a long south front that includes a wide central opening flanked by smaller symmetrical openings, all topped with segmental brick arches. The rear has one small square light. The gable facing the farmhouse has a plank door at the top of external stone steps. Inside, the loft has a simplified king post roof with seven bays, and there are two small roof lights on the south side. This granary is part of a large group of farm buildings that are arranged around the farmhouse and remains in its original condition.
