Description

Narrows House is a late 18th-century building on the south side of High Street. It represents a refronting of an earlier structure. The building is three storeys high and has one window facing the street. It has a Welsh slate roof with a rendered stack. The front is timber-framed and plastered, featuring a modillion eaves cornice with a fluted frieze. Masonry party walls are also present. A segmental bowed key window extends through the first and second floors; it has architraved sash windows with three lights and glazing bars. A late 18th-century shopfront is present, complete with a cornice and a shop window with large panes. The house’s doorway is distinguished by elongated console brackets flanking a rectangular fanlight, above a half-glazed door.
