Description
Lower Broomborough is an early 18th century farmhouse that has been divided into two separate residences. It is 1 and a half storeys tall and features a late 18th century addition at the north end. The building has irregularly placed windows and a Welsh slate roof supported by masonry rubble and brick stacks. The walls are rendered, and the openings have timber lintels. There are modern dormer windows, while the original house retains mostly 19th century and modern windows, along with some 3 and 4 light casements that have stay bars and leaded lights. The extension includes flush framed sash windows with glazing bars. The main entrance, located on the south side, features a framed doorway with edge rolls and a boarded door, topped with a bracketed hood. There is a stone mounting block near the entrance. Inside the original house, you will find chamfered ceiling beams with ogee stopped ends, a wide kitchen fireplace with an edge roll and stopped ends to the timber lintel, and an old first-floor boarded door with cover strips, wrought iron pegs, and hinges.
