Description
Sparkwell is a detached house, believed to be built on the site of an earlier structure, dating from approximately 1835-40. Later extensions were added in a matching style. The house is constructed with stucco and has a slate hipped roof featuring paired brackets to the eaves soffit. A moulded band runs along the first floor level, and the corners have rusticated quoins. The original section of the house comprises three bays, with a single-bay extension to the north. It has sash windows with glazing bars set within moulded architraves. The central doorway of the original section features a panelled door and a rectangular fanlight. A parallel, rendered range runs along the rear (west) of the house, projecting to the south onto the road. Chimney stacks are rendered.
