Description

This is a pair of attached limekilns, dating from the early 19th century, constructed from local stone rubble. The front retaining wall is flat, with the ends curving back. There are two corbelled swallow openings on the front, each featuring a pointed arch topped with a flat corbel stone. A low stone rubble wall runs across the front, originally intended to contain the lime within the area, but it is now covered with corrugated iron sheets used for farm sheds. The furnaces have been filled in with rubble.
