Description
This bridge, located 100 metres south-east of the ruins of Fowelscombe House, dates from the late 18th century and likely coincides with the extensions and remodelling of the house itself. It carries the drive to Fowelscombe House over a small stream. The structure is built of slate rubble with stone dressings and features two round arches with cutwaters on both the upstream and downstream sides. It has low parapets and small ashlar gate piers at the outer (south-east) end. The bridge spans a small stream that flows through a deep cutting in front of the ruins of Fowelscombe House.
