Description
The Drive Bridge at Curtisknowle, dated 1830, carries the drive to Curtisknowle House over a lane in the estate village of Curtisknowle. It is constructed from local slate rubble and features a segmental arch made of rough slate voussoirs, with straight-sided abutments. The bridge has a low parapet topped with slate capping. On the east side, there is a small granite tablet above the arch, which has a roll-moulded surround and bears the initials 'HH' along with the date '1830'. The initials likely refer to Henry Hore of Curtisknowle House. Underneath the bridge, the north abutment is rebated as a doorstop, while the south side has one hinge, although the gate itself is missing.
