Description
Lyneham Inn is a public house that was formerly a coaching inn, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins and window arches, topped by a slate hipped roof featuring deep eaves. The building has two storeys and is composed of six bays. The sash windows, which include glazing bars and cambered arches, have C20 louvred shutters on the ground floor. Notably, the second bay from the left on the first floor is blind and features an octagonal panel displaying the name of the inn. There are chimneystacks at both ends of the building and one to the right of centre. The rear and end walls have C20 tile hanging, which likely replaced the original slate hanging. The inn is located along the Old Plymouth to Exeter Road.
