Description

Wiverton House is a detached house dating from around 1840. It is constructed of stuccoed stone rubble with slate plinths and cills, and has a slate hipped roof with oversailing eaves. A band runs around the building at first floor level. The house has two storeys and three bays, with a blind first floor window in the centre. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars and margin panes, set in chamfered openings. The ground floor features French windows, and there is a central round-headed niche. A porch with a chamfered four-centred arch is located on the side of the building. A contemporary wing extends from the rear.

The interior of the house includes moulded plaster cornices in the principal rooms and original joinery. A contemporary staircase features turned balusters, newels, and a modillion cornice in the hall. There are two first-floor marble fireplaces with cast iron grates. A contemporary wing was added to the rear.
