Description

Moor Bridge is a cart track bridge that crosses a railway line, built around 1848. It is constructed from coursed stone rubble and features an elliptical arch made of granite ashlar voussoirs, along with a stringcourse and granite coping on the parapet. The South Devon Railway, which was authorized in 1844, opened this section from Totnes to Lairs (in Plymouth) in 1848. The South Devon Company was dissolved in 1878, but the Great Western Railway took over two years earlier in 1876. The broad gauge used was replaced in 1892.
