Description

Horsecombe Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around the 18th century, possibly with earlier origins. It features a front made of roughly coursed stone that has been limewashed, and it has a wood ogee bracket eaves cornice. The roof is half-hipped and the building has two storeys with three windows. The windows are sash types with exposed frames, although the ground floor windows have been converted to casements. These windows have red brick cambered heads, which are partly painted black.

Inside, there is a wide fireplace with a hewn beam, a window with seats and wide sunk panelled shutters, and two-panel doors, including one leading to the attic that retains its H hinges with straps. The roof structure includes pine trusses with half-lapped collars. The farmhouse is said to have references in the Domesday Book.
